has released the first official trailer for .

The latest installment of the franchise will see return to the role of Sidney Prescott after sitting out the previous entry due to a pay dispute. She will be joined by a host of returning franchise regulars, including Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

Other familiar faces, such as David Arquette, Scott Foley, and , will also return. The trio will reprise the roles of deceased characters Dewey Riley, Roman Bridger, and Stu Macher.

7‘s official synopsis reads: “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realised as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”

The role of Sidney's daughter will be played by Isabel May, who leads a fresh ensemble alongside Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O'Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.

The seventh installment of the hit horror franchise is directed by , scribe of the 1996 original classic Scream and its sequels Scream 2, and Scream 4. Williamson is also credited for writing the script alongside Guy Busick.

Noticeably absent from the production are Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. The duo previously played the lead roles of Sam and Tara Carpenter in the franchise's last two outings. Barrera was reportedly dismissed from the project due to social media comments, while Ortega allegedly exited the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Scream 7 will slash its way into cinemas on February 27th, 2026.
