20th Century Studios has released an official trailer for the upcoming satanic slasher film, Psycho Killer.
The film, which comes from the producers of Barbarian (2022) and Weapons (2025), promises to be a “terrifying cross-country road trip”.
Its official synopsis reads, “Following the brutal murder of her husband, a Kansas highway patrol officer sets out on a journey to track down the perpetrator. As the hunt progresses, she comes to realise the man responsible is a sadistic serial killer, and the depth of his mental depravity and his sinister agenda is more twisted than anyone could have imagined.”
Barbarian (2022) breakout Georgina Campbell stars as Jane Thorne, the highway officer tasked with hunting down James Roger Preston's “Psycho Killer”. Campbell's other notable acting credits include starring roles in The Watchers (2024) and the Netflix original film, Bird Box Barcelona (2023). Co-star Preston is also known for roles in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022), The Blackening (2022), Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024).
Grace Dove (The Revenant), Logan Miller (Escape Room), and Malcolm McDowell (Halloween, A Clockwork Orange) also star.
The film will see producer-turned-filmmaker Gavin Polne make his directorial debut. He directs from a script written by Seven (1995) and Sleepy Hollow (1999) scribe Andrew Kevin Walker.
Psycho Killer is the latest entry into 20th Century Studios' horror catalogue. The studio has an extensive portfolio, which includes classic franchises such as Alien and Predator. Recent outings from the studio include Alien Romulus (2024), The First Omen (2024), and The Boogeyman (2023).
The film has been rated R for strong bloody violence, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use, and language.
Psycho Killer is set for release in cinemas on February 20, 2026.
