2026 Golden Globe Awards One Battle After Another

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another is leading the way following the announcement of nominees for the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The anti-establishment black comedy picks up nine nominations in total, including for best comedy or musical and best original score. Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor and Benicio Del Toro are among the film’s five acting nominations, while Anderson iss doubly recognised in the directing and screenplay categories. 

There is also broad recognition for Joachim Trier’s multi-language drama Sentimental Value, which narrowly trails with eight nominations. The Cannes breakout receives nods for best drama, best director and best screenplay, as well as four acting nominations.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, meanwhile, scores seven nominations, including for best original song and best performance by a leading actor for the double-cast Michael B. Jordan.

Other titles recognised include Frankenstein, Zootopia 2, and Die, My Love.

A-Listers dominated the acting categories across the board, with Timothee Chalamet, George Clooney, Ethan Hawke and DiCaprio all contending for best performance in a musical or comedy. Jessie Buckley is nominated for the leading actress award for Hamnet, alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts.

In the television categories, satirical anthology The White Lotus and one-shot drama Adolescence lead the pack with six and five nominations, respectively.

The debut seasons of Pluribus and The Pitt both secured nominations for best drama series, while The Studio was the only new entrant to the musical or comedy category. It contend against The BearAbbott Elementary, HacksNobody Wants This and Only Murders in the Building.

Dystopian thriller Severance landed four nominations, followed by The Beast in Me with three in the limited and anthology series categories.

The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on 11th January 2026, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser for the second consecutive year.
