It's surprising how, in the franchise's nearly fifty-year history, there hasn't been a TV series. That is, until now. Celebrated showrunner Noah Hawley's latest project, Alien: Earth, brings the iconic Xenomorph down from space into our homes, along with other deadly creatures and existential horrors.

FILMHOUNDS attended a virtual roundtable with other members of the press, where we had a chat with cast members Babou Ceesay and Samuel Blenkin. Ceesay plays Morrow, a cyborg determined to carry out his mission, and Blenkin takes on the role of trillionaire CEO Boy Kavalier, who has dangerous ulterior motives.

Ceesay and Blenkin are no strangers to massive sci-fi worlds, having been involved in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Black Mirror, and Mickey 17 between them. However, Alien: Earth is something special. Ceesay explained, “It's the way Noah builds worlds. There's this extra layer of intimacy… it feels huge and small all at the same time. And that's something. So this was very special.”

This is a show that looks as good (and expensive) as any big blockbuster feature. The extended sets and production design are something to behold, including the costumes, which are vital to Blenkin and his character, Boy, with his casual look and lack of footwear. “The costumes really unlocked this character for me. I really like coming from the outside in, so the feeling of not wearing shoes almost brought the whole character into focus for me.”

FILMHOUNDS also got to ask Ceesay and Blenkin about the set pieces, the physical demands of the show, and what props they may or may not have taken home with them.
