The latest installment of Shudder's found footage anthology series V/H/S is on the way.
Variety first broke the news and confirmed the title will be V/H/SHalloween.
The film will feature segments directed by:
- Bryan M. Ferguson (Pumpkin Guts)
- Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks, Adult Swim Yule Log)
- Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman (Cosmetic)
- Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell, Queen of Earth)
- Paco Plaza (REC, Veronica)
- Anna Zlokovic (Appendage)
The V/H/S franchise launched in 2012 with V/H/S and showcased an impressive list of acclaimed horror directors such as Adam Wingard (Death Note, Godzilla vs. Kong), David Bruckner (The Night House, Hellraiser 2022), Ti West (X trilogy, House of the Devil), and Radio Silence (Ready or Not, Scream 2022).
Various other installments have since been released. These include V/H/S/2, V/H/S: Viral, V/H/S/94, V/H/S/99, V/H/S/85, and V/H/S/Beyond. Two spin-off films titled Siren and Kids vs. Aliens have also been produced.
Actress Katie Segal (The Haunting of Hill House, Hush), who made her directorial debut with the segment “Stowaway” in V/H/S Beyond, has previously discussed why the series was the perfect starting point for her directorial career:
“V/H/S has always been a springboard for new and up-and-coming filmmakers. It's a unique situation where you are part of a team, but you're also an individual, so you have the support of an established franchise, but their mission is to give new filmmakers creative control.”
The V/H/S franchise was created by Brad Miska of Bloody Disgusting and various other filmmakers. The series follows an anthology structure with each film telling a brand new story based on the discovery of disturbing VHS tapes.
V/H/S/Halloween will premiere on Shudder on October 3rd, 2025.
