The recipients of the 16th Dorian TV Awards have been announced, with The Pitt and Hacks among the big winners.
The Pitt, a medical drama set at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, won the top prize of the night with Best TV Drama. Furthermore, its star Noah Lyle won the Best TV Performance–Drama for his role as a physician left traumatised by his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pitt premiered on Max in January. Deadline reports that a second season has been announced and is expected to premiere in January 2026.
Hacks, meanwhile, won Best TV Comedy for a third time. The comedy-drama series was also awarded the awards for Best LGBTQ TV Show and Best Written TV Show. Two of its performers were also recognised, with Jean Smart winning the Best TV Performance—Comedy award and Hannah Einbinder walking away with the Best Supporting TV Performance—Comedy prize.
The recipients were all selected by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, a group that celebrates LGBTQ content across television and streaming. The society currently consists of 560 members.
Cole Escola was awarded GALECA's Wilde Wit Award, previous recipients of which include Wanda Sykes, Bowen Yang, and John Oliver. Meanwhile, Ncuti Gatwa—best known for Sex Education (2019-2023) and Doctor Who (2023-2025)—was named GALECA's LGBTQIA+ TV Trailblazer.
Other winners from the event include Adolescence, Andor, Harley Quinn, Squid Game, and the documentary Pee Wee as Himself.
In a statement, GALECA's Executive Director Diane Anderson-Minshall said “This year's Dorian TV winners prove once again that queer folks have an especially keen eye for stellar TV, using our culture's lens to elevate the bold, brilliant, and blissfully bonkers. From Hacks' dazzling domination to Ncuti Gatwa's historic trailblazing, we're proud to celebrate a wildly entertaining spectrum of talent and storytelling.”
