Netflix has released the first official teaser trailer for Wednesday Season 2.

The synopsis for the new season reads:

“Wednesday Addams returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

Jenna Ortega returns to the titular role of Wednesday Addams, having previously teased that the new season will be bolder, darker, and heavier on horror than the first season.

“The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her,” said Ortega in a recent interview with Tudum. “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it's so much fun.”

Also returning for the new season are Emma Myers as Enid, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia Addams.

Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Hunter Doohan, and Thandiwe Newton will feature in the new season, alongside newcomer to the series Lady Gaga. Visionary filmmaker Tim Burton will also return to direct several episodes.

Wednesday Season 1 debuted in November 2022 and was met with positive reviews from critics. Within three weeks of its release, it became Netflix's second-most watched English-language series. It has since received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series, where Jenna Ortega was also nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.

Wednesday Season 2: Part 1 will premiere on Netflix on August 6th, with Part 2 landing September 3rd.
