Jared Hess'  stays at the top of the for the third week in succession, while Ryan Coogler's Sinners debuts at second place on its opening weekend.

According to Screen Daily, the popular family comedy has become the highest-grossing UK release of the year, adding £5.3m this weekend to bring its total gross to £47.4m. The previous chart-topper, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, has sunk to an overall second place with £46.3m. This leaves A Minecraft Movie just £7.5m away from becoming the highest-grossing video game adaptation ever at the UK box office, following The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023).

The vampire horror has opened in second place with £3.3m. The fifth collaboration between actor Michael B. Jordan and filmmaker Ryan Coogler, the film follows two brothers who return to their hometown in Mississippi and soon discover a great evil lurking in the shadows. This result means that two Warner Bros. Pictures releases occupy the two top spots on the UK box office this week.

The Amateur added £903,139 from its opening weekend, for a £3.3 million total. The Rami Malek-led thriller tells the story of a CIA agent who goes rogue to hunt down those responsible for his wife's murder.

This weekend also saw two more new releases in Lionsgate's The Penguin Lessons and A24's Warfare, with the former coming out on top. Steve Coogan's animal drama pulled in £1.4m since its release on Friday. The latest figures for Alex Garland's Iraq War thriller stand at £752,942 – significantly down on his previous feature, Civil War (2024).

Outside of the top five, Universal's thriller Drop suffered a 47% decrease in its second weekend, while Kova Releasing's King of Kings managed a 100% boost over Easter weekend.
