20th Century Studios has released the first official teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands.
The latest entry into the action/sci-fi franchise is reportedly “set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.”
The film will star Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatang. Fanning is best known for playing the role of Catherine the Great in the Hulu series The Great, for which she received nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globes. She is also known for playing the role of Princess Aurora in Maleficent (2014) and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019). Schuster-Koloamatangi is best known for starring roles in The Panthers (2021) and Red, White and Brass (2023).
Fanning previously spoke about the film during Disney's presentation at CinemaCon, where she teased the film's unique dynamic: “Something unprecedented happens in this movie, and my character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator, and you get to see him in a whole new light.”
Director Dan Trachtenberg will return to the franchise after helming its previous entry, Prey. The film was released exclusively on Disney+ in the UK and went on to receive four Emmy nominations. Trachtenberg's other directorial credits include 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and No Escape (2011).
The original Predator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers, was released in 1987. Other entries into the franchise include Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010), and The Predator (2018).
Next up for the franchise is an animated anthology film titled Predator: Killer of the Killers, which will be released on Dinsey+ on June 6th.
Predator: Badlands will arrive in UK cinemas on November 7th, 2025.
