M3GAN 2.0 Official Trailer Released

has released an official for 2.0.

The film is a to M3GAN (2022) and appears to turn the titular, artificially intelligent doll from villain to hero.

The film's official synopsis reads “Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN's creator Gemma has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma's niece Cady, now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma's overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defence contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia's self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around.

“With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.”

Gerard Johnstone returns to direct M3GAN 2.0, having also helmed the first film. James Wan and also return as producers.

and reprise their roles as Gemma and Cady. The film will also star Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps, while Amie Donald and Jenna Davis star as the likeness and voice of M3GAN respectively.

Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement round off the cast.

M3GAN grossed $181 million worldwide from a reported budget of $12 million. The sequel was first announced by two years ago with an originally scheduled release date of January 2025.

M3GAN 2.0 will be released in UK cinemas on 27th June 2025.
