Disney's Snow White has opened at the top of the UK box office with £3.9 million.
Screen Daily reports that this is less than the debuts of other recent Disney releases such as The Little Mermaid (2023) and Mufasa: The Lion King (2024), which opened with £5 million and £4.4 million respectively.
The studio's latest live-action release is a reimagining of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). It stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is second, adding £772,874 during its sixth weekend in cinemas. This brings its total up to £44.5 million, making it the second-highest-grossing film in the franchise after Bridget Jones' Baby (2016).
Steven Soderbergh's Black Bag, a spy thriller starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, is third with £734,932. This places it ahead of Bong Joon-ho's Mickey 17, which scored £724,113 for Warner Bros. Pictures during its third weekend in cinemas.
The Alto Knights has debuted in fifth place with £386,698. Barry Levinson's biographical crime drama stars Robert De Niro as both Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, two top mafia bosses whose rivalry spirals out of control. Debra Messing and Cosmo Jarvis also star.
Outside of the top five, Gints Zilbalodis' Flow has opened with £351,392. The Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature follows a cat and a group of other animals trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic, post-human world. Flow has scored the biggest opening weekend for Curzon since Parasite (2020).
Meanwhile, Ne Zha 2 has opened with £206,631 at the UK box office. The animated sequel is already the most successful animated film ever at the global box office. It also currently ranks as the fifth highest-grossing film in history, with over $2.1 billion.
