StudioCanal has revealed details of the planned home release of Paddington in Peru.
Based on the stories by British author Michael Bond, Paddington in Peru follows Paddington's journey to visit his Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears in Peru. Upon his arrival, an unexpected mystery ensues. Joined by the Brown family, Paddington travels through the Amazon rainforest and across the mountains of Peru to solve the mystery.
Paddington in Peru is the third entry in the Paddington film franchise, following the BAFTA-nominated Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017).
BAFTA nominees Hugh Bonneville and Emily Mortimer star as Henry Brown and Mrs Brown respectively. BAFTA winner and Academy Award nominee Imelda Staunton plays the voice of Aunt Lucy. BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw stars as the voice of Paddington.
The film has now grossed over $93 million worldwide, despite it not yet opening in North American cinemas.
Paddington in Peru is Dougal Wilson's feature directorial debut. Wilson takes over from Paul King, who directed the first two Paddington films.
The film will be available via digital download before being released on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD. Special features will include ‘The Story of Paddington in Peru‘, ‘The Home for Retired Bears Tour', ‘Brown's House Tour' and ‘Let's Prepare for Paddington' with the Reverend Mother.
The 4K UHD release contains an additional bonus feature, titled ‘The Making of Paddington in Peru‘.
An HMV exclusive and limited edition Paddington in Peru: The Box Of Adventure will also be released. It features exclusive film artwork and contains Paddington's suitcase, inside which is a selection of art cards, posters, and other collectables. It is currently available for preorder.
Paddington in Peru will be available for digital download from 14th February 2025. A DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD release will follow on 17th February 2025.
