Until Dawn Movie Releases First Trailer

has released the first trailer for their upcoming adaptation of .

Until Dawn is based on the 2015 video game of the same name. It includes a brand new story and collection of characters which serve as a spin-off from the main narrative.

The film's official synopsis reads “One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor centre, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.

“Trapped in the valley, they're forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.”

Until Dawn is directed by . The Swedish filmmaker previously directed Annabelle: Creation (2017) and Lights Out (2016). Sandberg also directed Shazam! (2019) and its sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023).

The film will star Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, ​and Odessa A'zion. Ji-young Yoo, ​Belmont Cameli, and ​Maia Mitchell complete the main cast.

Peter Stormare is also set to star, having previously featured in the game as Dr. Alan J. Hill. The Swedish-American actor is also known for his role as Gaear Grimsrud in Fargo (1996).

The original Until Dawn game gives players control of eight young adults as they face deadly threats in an isolated mountain location. The game features a butterfly effect system where each player's choices determine how the story unfolds.

Until Dawn will be released in UK cinemas on 25th April 2025.
