Warners Bros. Pictures has released an official trailer for their upcoming horror film .

The film's official synopsis reads “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Written and directed by Academy Award-nominated director , Sinners will star as both twins. Coogler and Jordan have previously collaborated on projects such as Black Panther (2018), and Fruitvale Station (2013). The pair have also worked together on the Rocky spin-off franchise, Creed.

Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld will also star in the film. The actress is best known for her roles in True Grit (2010), Bumblebee (2019), and the Netflix animated series Arcane (2021-2024). She also stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Hawkeye (2021).

Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, and Jayme Lawson also star. Omar Benson Miller and Delroy Lindo complete the main cast.

Coogler has said that Sinners “switches in and out of a lot of different genres. Yes vampires are an element, but it's not the only supernatural element in the movie. The film is about more than just that.

“It's a love letter to the experience of watching an exhilarating movie in a packed house full of strangers, not knowing what's going to happen next. So many incredible films have given me that feeling, so I wanted to try my hand at giving it back to audiences.”

Coogler also confirmed that Sinners will explore deeper ideas and personalities connected to American blues , such as Tommy and Robert Johnson. Both musicians (who were unrelated) are attached to rumours that they each sold their soul to the Devil in exchange for their musical talent.

Sinners will be released in UK cinemas on 18th April 2025.
