Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King has remained at the top of the global rankings for a fifth consecutive week, ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Wolf Man.

Mufasa made an additional $31.8 million to take its box office total to $588 million. Screen Daily reports that this makes it the seventh-biggest release of 2024. Wolf Man, directed by Leigh Whannell, has debuted in third place with $15.4 million. A reboot of The Wolf Man (1941), the film centres on a father protecting his family from a werewolf who ends up becoming infected himself. Whannell previously directed The Invisible Man (2020), which made $144.5 million worldwide from a $7 million budget.

Moana 2 is fourth with $14 million, taking the animated sequel over the $1 billion mark. It is ahead of Nosferatu, which made $12 million. This brings the vampire horror's global total to $155.6 million.
