Moana 2 has remained at the top of the UK box office for a third straight week.
The Disney sequel brought in an additional £3.6 million last weekend. Screen Daily reports that Moana 2 is now the eighth highest-grossing title of the year with £26.5 million. This takes it ahead of the £26.3 million made by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Wicked is just behind with £3.5 million for Universal. The musical adaptation is now up to £43.6 million at the UK box office and is the fourth-biggest release of the year. It has overtaken the £39.6 million total achieved by Dune: Part Two.
Gladiator II is third with £918,000, for a running total of £28.5 million. Ridley Scott's historical epic sequel is ahead of Paddington in Peru, which made £821,155 to take its total to £30.2 million.
Kraven the Hunter debuted in fifth place with the lowest opening at the UK box office for any Sony-produced Marvel title. The new film, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular legendary hunter, opened with £686,806. This is half of the £1.3 million that Madame Web debuted with back in February, and significantly behind the £4.3 million opening scored by Venom: The Last Dance. Kraven the Hunter also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, and Russell Crowe.
The Ralph Fiennes-starring Conclave is sixth with £554,000. This takes its UK box office total to over £4 million. It also places Edward Berger's film ahead of new entrant The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim. The anime spin-off of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies opened with £453,584.
Also debuting at the UK box office this week is Luca Guadagnino's Queer, starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey. The LGBT+ romance opened with £192,000 for MUBI.
