The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K Restoration Coming This February

Arrow Video is set to release a Limited Edition Blu-Ray and 4K UHD of Tobe Hooper's (1986).

The film, which served as the much-anticipated sequel to Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), follows the chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface and his clan as they target a new set of victims.

In a statement, said “Relocating the cannibalistic Sawyers to a cavernous labyrinth beneath an amusement park, Hooper's deliciously demented sequel sees local DJ Stretch running afoul of them when she gets mixed up in the brutal slaying of two youngsters. Meanwhile, Lieutenant “Lefty” Enright is hell-bent on avenging the murder of his nephew Franklin, who perished in the original massacre. Whichever way you skin it, Leatherface's second cinematic outing is an uncompromisingly delirious vision from one of the masters of .”

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 grossed $8 million during its original theatrical run. Its poster is a parody of promotional materials released for John Hughes' teen comedy The Breakfast Club (1985).

Both new releases include a 4K restoration from the original negative and come with limited edition packaging featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Ilan Sheady and Dare Creative.

Additional bonus content includes audio commentary from the film's stars Bill Moseley and Caroline Williams, and also from special effects artist Tom Savini. Savini's other credits include Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Friday the 13th (1980).

The releases also include extended interviews with Hooper and co-producer Cynthia Hargrave from Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films.

Additionally, alternate opening credits, deleted Scenes, and behind-the-scenes footage are also included in each box set.

The Limited Edition Blu-Ray and 4K UHD restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 will be released on 17th February 2025. Both releases are available to pre-order now.
