Venom: The Last Dance has remained at the top of the global box office following its second weekend in cinemas.
The Tom Hardy-starring Marvel film – the final title in Sony's Venom trilogy – grossed $94.5 million last weekend across 67 territories. The Last Dance has now hit a running total of $317 million worldwide. The trilogy's previous entry, Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) achieved $506.8 million.
Universal's The Wild Robot lies in second place with $23.3 million across 80 territories, down only 6%. The DreamWorks animation has now grossed $269 million worldwide, $247.6 million (92%) of which is from international markets. It is ahead of Bollywood titles Singham Again with $22.3 million, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with $20.4 million.
Terrifier 3 is fifth with $15.7 million. Screen Daily reports that this is the same as the entire box office total of Terrifier 2 (2022). Director Damien Leone's third film in the Terrifier franchise has now made $74.6 million at the global box office from just 39 territories.
Terrifier 3 is ahead of Paramount's Smile 2 with $15.5 million, and the Tamil-language war film Amaran with $11 million.
The Hong Kong-produced disaster movie Cesium Fallout is eighth, with $10.5 million from across just three territories. It is ahead of the French romance L'Amour ouf, which also currently has a limited release. Gilles Lellouche's drama grossed $6.6 million for a $26.6 million total, and is currently only playing in French cinemas.
A24 and StudioCanal's We Live In Time, starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, has made an additional $6 million for a worldwide box office total of $21.7 million. The romantic comedy-drama received its UK premiere at the 2024 BFI London Film Festival, ahead of its UK theatrical release on 1st January 2025.
