Sony's Venom: The Last Dance has debuted at the top of the UK box office.

The final instalment of the Venom trilogy, and the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), has opened with £4.3 million. Starring Tom Hardy, the Marvel feature played in 622 sites with a £6,915 location average. Screen Daily reports that The Last Dance is currently the lowest-performing film of the trilogy.

The Wild Robot drops to second place in its second week, earning an additional £1.9 million. Universal's family animation has now grossed a total of £6.4 million.

Paramount's Smile 2 has made £1 million in its second week. This takes the horror sequel past £4 million in total. Its predecessor, Smile (2022), made £4.8 million after two weeks.

Transformers One remains in fourth place, grossing £377,581 in its third week. Paramount's animation now totals £3.4 million. It is ahead of StudioCanal's The Apprentice with £372,604, a 50% drop in its second week. The biopic has reached a £1.6 million cume.

In its eighth week, Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice grossed £367,938, dropping only 21.3%. Its UK box office total stands at £25.3 million.

After adding £269,117 in its third week, Terrifier 3 has become Signature Entertainment's highest-grossing film with a total of £2.8 million.

Pedro Almodóvar's first English-language film, The Room Next Door, debuted with £239,043. Starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, the drama was the first Spanish film to be awarded the Golden Lion prize at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.

MUBI's The Substance, starring Demi Moore, has become the distributer's highest-grossing film in the UK and worldwide. The body horror added £150,000, a 32% drop in its sixth week. This raises its UK box office total to £3.4 million.
