Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has remained at the top of the UK for a fourth consecutive week.

The Warner Bros. sequel made an additional £1.8 million, taking its cumulative total to around £31 million. Screen Daily reports that it has now broken into the top eight highest-grossing releases of the year so far.

Speak No Evil, starring James McAvoy, remains second with £641,119. This takes the horror remake's gross to just under £4 million.

Body horror The Substance, starring Demi Moore and directed by Coralie Fargeat, is third. An extra £420,495 in its second week takes the film's total to £1.5 million. This also puts it ahead of World War Two Lee, with £400,612. The Kate Winslet-starring film has made £2.8 million after three weeks.

The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan, is the highest-placed new release at the UK box office. It debuted in fifth with £397,526 across 300 sites. Directed by Nora Fingscheidt, The Outrun is based on Amy Liptrot's 2016 memoir of the same name. It focuses on a young woman who leaves London for her parental home in Orkney to try and recover from a crippling alcohol addiction.

Fingscheidt's drama has opened ahead of Megalopolis, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The epic sci-fi drama grossed £357,047 across its opening weekend. Worldwide, the film has made $6.2 million on a reported $120 million budget. The Associated Press describes Megalopolis as a “mega-flop.”

Despicable Me 4 drops out of the top five, with £350,376 in its twelfth week in cinemas. It is ahead of Universal's 20th-anniversary re-release of Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead (2004). The horror comedy has made £314,288, to add to the £6.8 million it grossed at the UK box office when it was originally released.
