Deadpool & Wolverine Remains Top Of UK Box Office

Deadpool & Wolverine has remained at the top of the UK following its second weekend in cinemas.

The sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018) made an additional £8 million. The superhero film has now reached a £33.4 cumulative gross after just eleven days of release. Screen Daily reports that this means it has already performed better than both previous Deadpool films, as well as Logan (2017) and Avengers Assemble (2012).

Universal's Despicable Me 4 is second after making an additional £2.6 million in its fourth weekend. It is now the fourth-highest grossing film at the this year. The Despicable Me series has now become the first animated franchise to gross more than $5 billion worldwide.

Twisters, starring Glen Powell, has made an additional £1.2 million in third place. its UK box office total now stands at £10.2 million. It is ahead of Disney's Inside Out 2, with £939,000 to take its total to £52.2 million.

Osgood Perkins Longlegs, starring Nicolas Cage, posted an additional £570,000 to stay in fifth place.

Harold and the Purple Crayon is the highest-placed new release in sixth place, with a £438,558 debut at the UK box office. The latest adaptation of Crockett Johnson's Harold series stars Zachery Levi as the titular Harold, who draws himself out of his books and into the real world.

Sony's re-release of all of their live-action Spider-Man films began with Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man (2002), which made £253,261. This is in addition to the £29 million made during the superhero film's original theatrical run.

Additionally, A Quiet Place: Day One is sitting at £9.7 million having made an additional £101,000 in its seventh weekend. It currently sits behind A Quiet Place (2018) with £12.2 million and A Quiet Place: Part II (2021) with £11.8 million.
