FrightFest has announced its line-up for 2024, which marks the festival's 25th anniversary.
The five-day horror and fantasy film festival will feature 69 feature films, including 25 main screen premieres. The festival will also include panels, the annual short-film showcase, and “surprise 25th edition extras” yet to be announced.
Co-director Alan Jones said in a statement “FrightFest, the Dark Heart of Cinema, has been beating loud and proud now for an amazing 25 years. An incredible quarter of a century that has seen major challenges and transformations to the global film industry that FrightFest has embodied, embraced and emblazoned. Our past 25 glorious years have shown FrightFest in a state of continuous evolution, something we are determined will never, ever stop.”

The festival opens with the world premiere of Broken Bird (2024) Joanne Mitchell's directorial feature debut. The closing film is the award-winning body horror The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat and starring Demi Moore. A new teaser for the film has just been released.
Other programmed films include the UK premiere of Saint Claire (2024), featuring the actor and singer Bella Thorne. Frightfest will also host the UK premiere of Thorne's directorial debut Unsettled (2024).
FrightFest alumni returning for 2024 include Elijah Wood and Ant Timpson for a screening of Bookworm (2024). Azarael: Angel Of Death (2024) from E.L. Karz will also feature, as will Mickey Keating's Invader (2024). Jill Gervargizian's Ghost Game (2024) and André Øvredal's The Last Voyage of The Demeter (2023) will also screen, receiving their world and UK premieres respectively.
Other main screen attractions include the European premieres of Strange Darling (2023) and Cold Wallet (2024), as well as the world premiere of Test Screening (2024).
FrightFest 2024 takes place at The ODEON Luxe Leicester Square from the 22nd to the 26th of August 2024.
