76th Emmy Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards have been released.

FX's Shōgun leads with 25 nominations as a Drama Series, having moved from the Limited Series category following its renewal. Both of the series' leads, Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai, have received nods for their performances.

Its ninth episode ‘Crimson Sky' has been singled out for both its writing and directing. It is the second non-English language show to be nominated for Best Drama, after Squid Game (2021).

Newcomers to the Drama category include Fallout, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and 3 Body Problem.

The Bear came in second with 23 nominations, including Jeremy Allen White for Lead Actor and Ayo Edebiri for Lead Actress. The series has set the record for the most nominations for a comedy in a single year.

Shōgun and The Bear form just over half of FX's total nominations.

has garnered the most nominations (107), with shows like The Crown picking up 18 and Richard Gadd's female stalker Baby Reindeer getting 11. The Crown has already won 21 Emmys from 69 nominations.

Furthermore, HBO has earned 91 nominations across 29 programs, including The Gilded Age, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Hacks. Apple TV+ has 72 nods for shows like The Morning Show, Slow Horses, and Hijack.

Ryan Gosling, Lily Gladstone, Matt Berry, and Jack Lowden have all received their first Emmy nominations. Gladstone is the first Indigenous woman to be nominated for an acting Emmy.

Finally, Academy Award winners Robert Downey Jr. and Da'Vine Joy Randolph are recognised for their roles in The Sympathizer and Only Murders in the Building, respectively.

UK broadcast plans have not yet been confirmed. The previous ceremony was broadcast on Sky Max.

The 76th Emmys will air live on 15th September 2024 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
