Cast Announcements Made For Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

A number of casting announcements have been made this past week for Wake Up Dead Man: A Mystery.

The news follows the title reveal from director Rian Johnson on X (formerly Twitter). Daniel Craig was already confirmed to return as Detective Benoit Blanc.

Challengers‘ Josh O'Connor and Priscilla‘s Cailee Spaeny were the first to be announced. News of Andrew Scott's casting followed this announcement a day later. Scott is best known for Fleabag (2016-2019) and All of Us Strangers (2023).

Additionally, the eight-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close will also join the project. Close's most recent credits include Heart of Stone (2023) alongside Gal Gadot. Scandal‘s Kerry Washington will also join the film in an undisclosed role.

Jeremy Renner has also been cast in Wake Up Dead Man, marking the Marvel star's first film since his 2023 snowplough accident. Renner has a recurring role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His other credits include The Hurt Locker (2009) and Arrival (2016).

Mila Kunis' casting was also revealed on the same day. Kunis is known for her role as Meg in Family Guy (1999-Present) and the romcom Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008).

Daryl McCormack has also been cast in the new film. The Irish actor recently starred alongside Emma Thompson in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022).

The most recent announcement to date is that Josh Brolin is also set to feature. The Academy Award-nominated actor has previously starred as Thanos in the MCU and Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve's Dune films.

Wake Up Dead Man is the third title in the Knives Out franchise, and the second win a two-film deal with Netflix worth $450 million. Production on Wake Up Dead Man is set to begin imminently. A release date has not been confirmed
