A first-look photo has been released for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third instalment in the Knives Out series.
Director Rian Johnson posted the photo on X (formerly known as Twitter). It features Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, a Southern detective who also starred in Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).
Blanc is sporting a different appearance from the previous films. The black and white image shows him with longer hair and wearing a three-piece suit.

Johnson has reportedly been working on the third film since June 2022. Last month, the director shared the film's official title in a short video with a voiceover from Craig as Benoit Blanc. Blanc describes the film as being his “most dangerous case yet.”
This will be the second film released since Netflix acquired the rights to the franchise from Media Rights Capital and Lionsgate. The streaming giant beat Amazon and Apple in a bidding war for the property, reportedly paying over $400 million.
As well as starring in the previous two films, Craig is best known for his tenure as James Bond between 2006 and 2021. The English actor has also starred in Road to Perdition (2002), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), and Logan Lucky (2017).
The latest Knives Out film boasts a large ensemble cast, including Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, and Josh Brolin. Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, and Andrew Scott are also set to feature, alongside Cailee Spaeny. Spaeny recently starred in Priscilla (2023) and Civil War (2024).
Yesterday, photos reportedly from the set of the new film emerged. The images show O'Connor in a priest outfit and were taken on the London set.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is set to be released on Netflix in 2025.
