Inside Out 2 is leading the UK after grossing £11.3 million across its opening weekend.

Disney's animated sequel has overtaken Dune: Part Two as the biggest opening weekend of the year so far. It has also surpassed the £7.4 million opening posted by Inside Out (2015). Screen Daily reports that the new film has recorded the third-highest-grossing debut weekend for an animated feature in history.

Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan all reprise their roles from the first film. New emotions introduced in the sequel include Anxiety (Maya Hawke) and Envy (The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri).

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die moved down to second place, with £1.9 million. A 34% drop from week one takes the film's UK box office total to £7.1 million.

John Krasinski's IF grossed £414,673 in its fifth week, bringing its total to £11.4 million.

Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes grossed £389,000 in its sixth week to remain fourth. Down by 37% from week five, the action feature's total gross rises to £15 million.

Sony's The Garfield Movie is in fifth place. Its total rises to £7.9 million, as it made £354,829 in its fourth week. It is ahead of George Miller's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga with £234,000.

The Watched, produced by M. Night Shyamalan and directed by his daughter Ishana, has now grossed £808,000. The supernatural horror dropped 54% from week one, adding £177,000 to its running total.

Wilding, David Allen's eco-documentary, debuted with £127,000 including previews. Met Film Distribution's feature has been the biggest documentary opening of 2024, screened in 57 cinemas. It is based on the book Wilding: The Return of Nature to a British Farm (2018) by Isabella Tree.
