Disney has announced a release date for the third season of The Bear, the acclaimed cooking drama starring Jeremy Allen White.
The show, created by Chris Storer, has been filming in Chicago since February. Forbes recently confirmed that the third and fourth seasons of The Bear have been filming concurrently, meaning that there is at least one more season to follow after this one.
All episodes will be released worldwide simultaneously on Disney+. The upcoming release date continues the precedent set by Disney so far, with each new season arriving in full during the same month each year.
The show centres around Carmy Berzatto (White), a chef who finds himself in charge of a run-down Chicago sandwich shop following the death of his brother. Season two followed Beratto and his team as they sought to transform the shop into a high-end restaurant, from which The Bear gets its name.
The series also stars Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Matty Matheson. Molly Ringwald, Olivia Colman, and Jamie Lee Curtis are among the high-profile stars to have made guest appearances on the show.
In November 2023, FX Entertainment President Nick Grad said “The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon.”
Since its premiere in 2022, The Bear has proven to be a critical and commercial success. FX previously reported that season one was the most-watched single comedy series in their history, while the season two premiere subsequently broke FX's own record. The second season also won Best Comedy at the Primetime Emmy Awards, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (Comedy Series) at the SAG Awards, and Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy) at the Golden Globe Awards.
The Bear season three releases on Disney+ on 27th June 2024.
