MUBI has announced release dates for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD home releases of Wim Wenders' Perfect Days.

The Blu-ray and DVD editions will include interviews with Wenders and the cast. They will also include a short film by Wenders titled some body comes into the light.

The 4K UHD collector's edition contains the same features as the Blu-ray and DVD editions, as well as a companion booklet and six exclusive art cards.

Perfect Days follows the daily routine of a middle-aged toilet cleaner in Tokyo, played by actor Koji Yakusho. As each meditative day unfolds, more is learned about his passions for classic rock, literature, and nature. Encounters with coworkers, acquaintances, and family members slowly reveal more about his personality and his past.

Describing Yakusho's character, Wenders told The Arts Desk “he's not so much my alter ego as a man who represents a utopian human figure at a time when the sense of the common good is so deeply endangered.”

Perfect Days premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, where it won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. Koji Yakusho won the Best Actor Award. Additionally, the film was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

Wenders is best known for Paris Texas (1984), Wings of Desire (1987), and Buena Vista Social Club (1999). The German filmmaker has previously worked on feature films, documentaries, short films, television series, music videos, and advertisements.

Wenders has enjoyed previous success at the Cannes Film Festival. He won the Palme d'Or for Paris Texas. He also won Best Director for Wings of Desire, and the Grand Prix for Faraway, So Close! (1993).

Perfect Days will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on 10th June, and on 4K UHD on 15th June. It is currently available for preorder.
