Jeffrey Wright will join the cast of HBO's The Last of Us as Isaac Dixon for season two.
Wright voiced Isaac in the original Naughty Dog video game The Last of Us Part II (2020). His character in the show is described as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy,” according to Variety.
In an interview in February with Total Film, Wright teased his involvement in the show, saying “Anything is possible. We shall see.”

Season two will also feature Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Young Mazino as Jesse. Catherine O'Hara will guest star in an unnamed role.
Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna and Rutina Wesley are set to return to their roles. Photos released in May provided a first look at Pascal and Ramsey as Joel and Ellie respectively.
The first season ended with Joel (Pascal) saving Ellie (Ramsey) from the Fireflies militia group as they attempted to perform invasive brain surgery for a vaccine. The first season ends with a tense conversation between the two about the truth of the hospital massacre as they travel back to Jackson, Wyoming.
Season one received 24 Emmy nominations and secured eight wins.
The second season of The Last of Us is set to premiere in 2025 on HBO.
