After recently getting a UK theatrical release announced for Boxing Day, it has been announced today that The Boy and the Heron will have a special preview screening at this year’s Manchester Animation Festival.
After premiering to acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film will have an early screening at HOME Manchester on the 15th November. The latest from Studio Ghibli follows a teenage boy who enters a magical world with a talking grey heron after finding an abandoned tower in his home town.
The Manchester Animation Festival will run in-venue at HOME Manchester and other cinemas in the city from the 12th to 17th November and online from the 18th November to the 30th. Some other titles playing at the festival include: Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, Kensuke’s Kingdom, Mars Express and more.
