Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)

It's safe to say the cast and director are excited they are to release the show into the world.

Speaking at the + global press conference on May 19th, director , and stars and are both happy and relieved to finally see the show air. “It's intense, I've been working on this (Kenobi) for 3 years, so I can't wait to finally talk about it” said Chow, who has previous credits in the universe since cutting her galactic teeth directing episodes of The Mandalorian.

Obi-Wan himself (McGregor) spoke about how happy he was to give back to fans of the prequels, discussing how meeting fans of episodes 1-3 has meant a lot to him. “It means a lot, a difficult thing for me was that the prequels weren't seemingly well received, so meeting those we made it for (kids in the early 2000s) and hearing they liked them certainly means a lot. And to be able to give them something like this, that there has clearly been an appetite for is really exciting.”

Star Wars newcomer Moses Ingram, who plays Reva, an inquisitor charged with tracking down remaining Jedi in the aftermath of order 66, said it was reading the script that meant she couldn't turn down the role. “That's what attracted me the most, it's edgy and fun, and cool, it felt dangerous.”

While director Deborah Chow, who directs all 6 episodes of the show's run, spoke about finding a way into a story so self-contained, with the show taking place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, and just why had to appear. “The history coming out of episode three is so strong with Obi-Wan, and the largest weight is in his story with Vader and with Anakin.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 27th on Disney+ with its first two episodes.
