Nicolas Cage to star in Butcher’s Crossing

Altitude have announced they will produce and finance Butcher's Crossing, an epic frontier adventure from writer/director Gabe Polsky (Red Army, Red Penguins) starring Academy Award-Winning acting legend Nicolas Cage (Mandy, Leaving Las Vegas).
Altitude will be handling international sales and will introduce the project to buyers at the Cannes Virtual Market, 21-25 June. Altitude have also secured the film for UK and Irish distribution.
Butcher's Crossing is a frontier epic, in which a young Harvard dropout seeks his destiny out West by tying his fate to a team of buffalo hunters led by Miller which will be played by Nicolas Cage. Together, they embark on a harrowing journey risking life and sanity.
Based on the seminal novel by John Williams which explores man's relationship with the natural world and details a largely untold but significant chapter in American history, Butcher's Crossing has been adapted for the screen by Gabe Polsky and Liam Satre-Meloy.
The film will be produced by Gabe Polsky, Molly Conners of Phipen Pictures alongside Will Clarke and Andy Mayson for Altitude Film Entertainment and Nicolas Cage's Saturn Films. David Gallego (Embrace Of The Serpent, Birds Of Passage) will D.O.P and other key collaborators on the production will include wildlife conservation charity Defenders of Wildlife and American adventurer and writer Steve Rinella.
Shooting will commence in October 2021 in the USA.
