If you felt like your life was missing more historical British dramas, look no further! Netflix has you covered with their new film The Dig which will premiere in early 2021. The Dig is set right before the beginning of WWII and follows a widow (Carey Mulligan) who hires an archeologist (Ralph Fiennes) to excavate the burial mounds on her estate, leading to a historic discovery. The film, based on the novel by John Preston, also stars Lily James, Johnny Flynn, and Ben Chaplin. With beautiful British landscapes and a stellar cast, The Dig looks to be an engaging and informative historical drama with an emotional twist.
The Dig will be released in select theaters in the UK on January 15th and will premiere on Netflix January 29th, 2021.
