Netflix continues to be a constant when it comes to releasing new content, which is much appreciated during these times. Their new series, The Queen's Gambit, based on the book by Walter Tevis, stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a young and immensely skilled chess player. Created by Scott Frank (Godless) and Allan Scott (The Witches), the show follows Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) as a child to a teenager as she begins to hone her chess-playing skills that leads her to compete in the U.S Open Chess Championship. Her own personal struggles start to emerge the more she competes and she begins to unravel. The show also stars Bill Camp, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Harry Melling, and Annabeth Kelly.
The Queen's Gambit will premiere worldwide on Netflix October 23rd.
