Buckle in for a bumpy ride as Dirt Rally 2.0, takes you closer to a day in the life of a professional rally driver than you have ever been taken before. Codemasters’ have really hit it out the park with the follow-up, as you whittle your way through unforgiving tracks, just about able to maintain full control of a wrath of horsepower that sits beneath your feet.

As the official game of the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship, you have access to eight licensed tracks across the globe, bringing an air of realism to a fantastic game. Fans of previous versions of the game will be familiar with the gameplay, however, Dirt Rally 2.0 does not offer any tutorials or direct AI difficulty settings in career mode which is definitely something to bear in the mind when initially setting up the game.

Another realistic aspect of the game is the that if you have a career championship in progress, then you are not able to select that car for use during any other feature on the game, the same goes with the damage of that car. A subtle amendment but one which I feel adds a layer of authenticity.

In career mode you can purchase upgrades to your vehicle, buy new and used vehicles and also bring on new staff to your team. Events are split by two disciplines, Rally and Rallycross which you can run side-by-side if you wish. The freeplay aspect of the game lets you take part in historic Rally’s, create custom championships, time trails and also take part in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

It is most certainly a game which as a pure racing fan, you can pop out of the box and fully jump right in to, whilst also offering those who prefer to take their time, the options to create teams/championships and much more.
