I recently made my way down to ‘that London’ for a couple of days holiday, during my time there I did something I’d always wanted to do… go on a Jack the Ripper tour. Although this activity wouldn’t be for everyone I do have a keen interest in true crime and I found the Jack the Ripper tour incredibly interesting, so much so I have spent most of my free time watching documentaries on the subject. So here is some fascinating documentaries to watch if you’re interested in Jack the Ripper.

Jack the Ripper Official Unmasking

Available on Youtube; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwzXh4PztE8

This long, but insightful, documentary discusses the real people who were involved in the case and really get down to the nitty gritty of the case. It tells how rough the East End was, why a murderer could have gone virtually unnoticed (beside the bodies found) and gives and in-depth telling of this 130 year old case.

Jack the Ripper: The Definitive Story

Available on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8VF4WKmccc

Another long documentary, but the good ones always are long! The clue is in the title with this documentary, it is literally just the step by step story of what we know of the Jack the Ripper case. If you’re knew to the case then this is a great way to get started, if you’re familiar with the case it is still a good watch as it has information that isn’t generally known by your everyday person.

Vic Reeves Investigates Jack the Ripper

Available on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ackMI3Eew5k

If you’re wanting some information on Jack the Ripper but are also wanting something a little softer then Vic Reeves has it covered in this documentary. Reeves goes through the case and suspects in order to try and solve the case, but inevitably that doesn’t happen, but it is interesting none the less.

The Secret Identity of Jack the Ripper

Available on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHy1Ljl3BIs

If you’re more interested in the suspects of Jack the Ripper then this documentary goes through some of the more probable suspects. Although the documentary is over 20 years old it is still relevant as these suspects are still in question, FBI, the British Justice System and other experts are brought in to look at the suspects and the case file.
