A new trailer has been dropped for the upcoming sequel to Flatliners. Directed by Niels Arden Oplev, the film stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons as five medical students, who begin experimenting with near-death experiences, only to find that the more they play around, the more beings from the ‘other side’ begin to torment them.

Originally thought to be a remake of the 1990 film, the casting of Kiefer Sutherland revealed that it would in fact be a sequel, as he was reprising his role in the first film (most likely in the same veign as the 2013 Evil Dead or the upcoming Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle). While the original film was praised for it’s premise, style and strong cast, overall it recieved mixed reviews, and currently holds a 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was made by the same director who gave us Batman & Robin, after all.

And these days, film studios will remake or give a sequel to anything, so with that in mind, here’s the newest trailer for Flatliners:

Flatliners jumps into cinemas September 29th 2017.
