The charismatic Dwayne Johnson and budding comedy star Zac Efron return as the first trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Baywatch landed today, finally showing audiences what sort of film it’s going to be.

Baywatch follows Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson), the head of the Baywatch team, who must learn to get along with brash new recruit Matt Brody (Zac Efron), as they uncover a criminal plot that threatens the beach they’re sworn to protect.
Alongside Johnson and Efron, the film also stars Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera, with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson also making appearances.

Under the helm of director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), the film looks to be forgoing the drama of the original series in favour of a raunchy action comedy. Will this approach be a success? Only time will tell. But whatever the case may be, my balls say we need to check it out.

Baywatch hits cinemas on May 26th 2017.
